Maxim Yachts made its defining statement at boot Düsseldorf, unveiling the Max 44R, the fastest walkaround ever built by the Spanish shipyard. The numbers speak for themselves: this 13.5-meter vessel achieves a blistering top speed of 60 knots, a velocity typically reserved for highly specialized race boats. This performance is fueled by triple 450 hp Yamaha XTO outboards, instantly positioning the Max 44R as the benchmark for dynamic owners demanding rapid transfers and exhilarating navigation.
The Power of Choice: Yamaha Versus Mercury
Maxim Yachts recognizes that performance preference is personal. While the yacht displayed at the German show featured the powerful Yamaha XTO engines, the Max 44R is also available with an alternative: triple Mercury Verado V10 outboards. This flexibility in engine choice, offering comparable performance from two of the world’s most reputable manufacturers, ensures that owners can tailor their vessel not only to their speed requirements but also to their preferred operational system.
Deck Layout: Engineered for Conviviality
Despite its extreme speed capability, the Max 44R is designed to maximize moments of leisure and relaxation. The deck layout is engineered for conviviality, featuring two distinct sunbathing areas, forward and aft. The centerpiece is the convertible dining area, which features two folding tables and four sofas, capable of accommodating over ten guests. This focus on entertaining, combined with a carbon-fiber hardtop that integrates a full JL Audio sound system, ensures the yacht transitions effortlessly from high-speed transit to comfortable anchorage.
Pilot and Crew: The Technical Hub
The helm console is built for serious navigation and pilot comfort. It offers four seats in addition to the pilot’s, ensuring the crew can be part of the high-speed experience. The technical package is assertive, featuring two 16-inch Garmin displays alongside 11 traditional analog gauges. The below-deck galley is also designed for functionality, including a cooktop, sink, two large refrigerators, and the option to install up to four refrigerators and an ice maker, guaranteeing provisioning for extended trips.
