The Dearsan Shipyard Flagship

Turkish maritime manufacturing continues to push into the 50-metre category. Dearsan Shipyard has officially launched its latest new build project, the 50.2-metre Queen Yaz. The project was initially announced to the market in January of last year, at which point the primary hull and superstructure phases were already completed. According to data from BOATPro, the physical construction of the vessel commenced in 2024. Upon final delivery, this 50-metre platform will officially operate as the flagship of the Dearsan Shipyard fleet.

Naval Architecture and Structural Framework

The structural integrity of Queen Yaz relies on a heavy-duty steel and aluminium construction profile. The complex naval architecture and underlying marine engineering for the project were executed by Milimetriq. This technical foundation ensures the vessel can safely support the expansive deck layouts requested by the owner while maintaining rigorous stability and performance standards across varying sea conditions.

Red Yacht Design’s Exterior Profile

The visual identity of the yacht was managed by Red Yacht Design, a specialized studio operating out of both Istanbul and London. The firm drafted a striking, dark exterior profile that sharply defines the vessel’s silhouette on the water. Managing Director Fatih Sürekli noted that the design objective was to create a platform that merges sophisticated lines with highly functional guest comfort. This recent launch follows Red Yacht Design’s successful work on the 40.8-metre custom superyacht Aisha, which recently hit the water at the Anadolu Shipyard.

Optimizing the Aft Deck and Swim Platform

The layout of Queen Yaz is explicitly tailored to accommodate outdoor living enthusiasts. A primary focus of the design is the massive swim platform at the stern. This waterfront hub is arranged with a long, U-shaped sofa and dedicated sun loungers. To maximize the usable square footage at the water’s edge, the engineering incorporates unfolding bulwarks that lower to accommodate additional seating and expand the overall beam of the beach club area.

Sundeck Amenities and Lounge Spaces

The emphasis on exterior living continues onto the upper levels of the superstructure. The sundeck is specifically configured to serve as the main social space for guests while underway or at anchor. The deck layout integrates a Jacuzzi surrounded by sunbeds, lounge sofas, a dedicated bar, and a formal dining area. For guests seeking more privacy away from the primary social zones, Red Yacht Design incorporated two additional, more intimate lounge spaces located on the bow and the main deck aft.
