The Aumund Debut: Lürssen’s New Giant

When Lürssen launches a superyacht, the world’s attention focuses on Bremen, Germany. The 117-meter motor yacht Boardwalk (Project 13797) was recently launched from the Lürssen Aumund facility, officially debuting a vessel whose details had been tightly held since construction began in 2021. With an estimated internal volume of 5,350 GT, Boardwalk immediately secures its place among the world’s Top 50 largest yachts and stands as the 22nd-largest built by Lürssen.

A Classical Vision: Timeless Lines

Boardwalk’s aesthetic is defined by a classical and timeless look, created by the design studios of Frank Woll and Amy Halffman. The first images reveal sleek horizontal lines flowing effortlessly from bow to stern, creating a sophisticated silhouette. The yacht proudly displays Lürssen’s signature elongated bow, a feature complemented by expansive deck spaces tailored for relaxation and entertainment. Built with a steel hull and aluminum superstructure, the design emphasizes graceful elegance over fleeting trends.

The Owner’s Mandate: Bespoke Flow

This vessel is a true testament to the collaboration between shipyard and owner. The experienced owner was deeply involved in the design process, contributing to every element, including the general arrangement and the onboard flow, as well as the interior and exterior styling. Designed explicitly as a family retreat, the layout prioritizes private space and intuitive connectivity across the decks. This hands-on, bespoke approach ensures the final vessel is a perfect, personal reflection of its intended use.

Operational Readiness: Helipads and Pools

Boardwalk is engineered for global reach and total onboard self-sufficiency. The yacht features two large helipads on both the bow and aft decks, securing operational redundancy and maximizing access for guests. Guest relaxation is a core function, with a swimming pool and Jacuzzi at the stern, providing direct access to the water via a spacious swim platform. A second pool on the upper deck, complete with stairs leading down, suggests a significant depth, doubling the water-based amenity count.

The Final Word: Defining the 2026 Fleet

Following its launch from the Bremen yard, Boardwalk now enters its final outfitting phase at the shipyard’s pier ahead of its projected 2026 delivery. The attention to classical design, coupled with high-volume interior space (5,350 GT) and bespoke, family-focused amenities, sets a firm benchmark for superyacht construction. Lürssen, which currently has several significant projects in-build, continues to affirm its definitive position at the apex of custom shipbuilding.
