The Mountain-Born Flagship
Azimut has officially launched the Seadeck 9, marking the largest yacht ever produced at the Avigliana shipyard. Building a 26-meter vessel at the foot of the mountains required a massive €50 million investment to redesign production flows and push engineering boundaries. According to Giovanna Vitelli, Chair of the Azimut|Benetti Group, this project is the culmination of fifty years spent making the unthinkable possible, transforming a site once limited by scale into a hub for flagship manufacturing.
Architecture of the Fun Island
Designed by Alberto Mancini, the exterior introduces the “Fun Island,” a three-level stage that opens directly onto the water. This 60-square-meter aft area features extending terraces and a pool that reflects the sky, creating a visceral connection to the sea. The platform descends to embrace the waterline, ensuring the stern is no longer just a transit point but the primary social interceptor of the yacht.
Conscious Design Logic
The interior, curated by Matteo Thun and Antonio Rodriguez, follows a philosophy of “Conscious Design”. Each space is engineered to be empathetic, where floor-to-ceiling windows and natural light deliver on the brand’s promise to return to nature. The architecture is sensorial and alive, utilizing a simple yet elegant language that allows the environment to become the main decorative element. It is a sophisticated recalibration of what a modern salon should feel like.
The Hybrid Heart
Sustainability is integrated into the core of the Seadeck 9, which is pre-engineered for the installation of the Volvo Penta hybrid propulsion system. This move confirms Azimut’s focus on environmental consciousness without sacrificing the performance expected of a flagship. By merging lightweight carbon construction with intelligent energy management, the Seadeck 9 addresses the growing demand for a more responsible way to navigate the world’s most sensitive coastlines.
The 2026 Horizon
Following its mountain baptism, the Seadeck 9 is scheduled for delivery to its owner in the summer of 2026. The global community will get its first look at the vessel during its official debut at the 2026 Cannes Yachting Festival. As the most mature expression of the Seadeck Series, it stands as a testament to Azimut’s ability to lead industry trends through a combination of strategic craftsmanship and industrial scale.
A Global Force
Azimut’s reach continues to expand, with five production facilities in Italy and a presence in 80 countries. The launch of the Seadeck 9 in Avigliana proves that their entrepreneurial philosophy remains focused on innovation and high-end yacht development. For the 2026 season, the Seadeck 9 is the vessel that finally reconciles the rugged grit of the mountains with the refined luxury of the Mediterranean.
