Brabus has formalized a strategic partnership with Italian shipyard AB Yachts to develop a dedicated range of Brabus Yachts. This collaboration merges aggressive, highly tailored design with proven offshore speed capabilities. By combining their respective manufacturing strengths, both entities aim to produce a distinct product line that shifts the current expectations for performance motor yachts.
Aerospace Construction on the Water
Building a hull capable of sustaining 60 knots demands advanced material application. AB Yachts brings its specialized aerospace-derived construction techniques to the partnership, providing the structural foundation for the new models. The Italian shipyard currently produces vessels ranging from the entry-level AB 80 to the expansive AB 130. Their integration of waterjet propulsion systems and advanced trim control technology ensures the physical platforms can handle the aggressive performance metrics expected from a Brabus-badged machine.
The Design Philosophy Shift
Brabus Marine has already established a presence through existing collaborations with Axopar and Sunreef. This new agreement expands that portfolio directly into the high-speed motor yacht sector. Constantin Buschmann, CEO and owner of Brabus, noted that this alliance opens a completely new dimension for the company by merging their bold design and focus on individuality with the specific manufacturing expertise of AB Yachts. The resulting vessels will feature the brand’s signature “One-Second-Wow” design approach, applying automotive detailing to offshore architecture.
Engineering the Waterjet Platform
AB Yachts joined the Next Yacht Group in 2025, bringing substantial capital and operational momentum to their production lines. Giorgio Mattei, Deputy Chairman of Next Yacht Group, stated that the two companies share a relentless passion for performance and bold design. The focus remains on creating an innovative co-designed product that leaves a lasting mark on the industry, relying heavily on AB Yachts’ expertise in waterjet mechanics to deliver immediate acceleration and precise handling at top speeds.
The Monaco Premiere Timeline
Conceptual renders are rapidly transitioning into physical builds. The market will get its first look at this collaboration when the inaugural model makes its world debut at the 2026 Monaco Yacht Show. The production schedule is already set for the near future, with a second premiere planned for the 2027 edition of the event. This timeline indicates a rapid and fully funded development cycle, positioning the new Brabus Yachts range for immediate entry into the global performance sector.
