Scaling the Turkish Industrial Footprint

The physical parameters of national shipbuilding have definitively shifted within the Turkish marine manufacturing sector. Turquoise Yachts has finalized the delivery of the 87.7-metre superyacht Angelique directly from its production facilities in Pendik, Istanbul. Previously operating under the moniker Project Vento throughout its construction phase, this vessel now stands as the largest yacht built in Türkiye to date by both overall length and internal volume. Registering at an immense 2,646GT, the platform surpasses the shipyard’s previous flagship, the 79-metre Nympheas, by nearly 10 metres and exactly 500GT. The successful delivery directly bolsters the builder’s strategic position within the highly competitive 70-metre-plus construction category.

Propulsion and Exterior Profile

Moving a vessel of this magnitude across open oceans requires a proven, heavy-duty mechanical foundation. Power is derived from twin MTU 12V 4000 M65L diesel engines, which smoothly propel the steel and aluminum hull to a top speed of 17 knots and maintain a highly efficient cruising speed of 14 knots. The naval architecture safely accommodates a 13.2-metre beam and a 3.9-metre draught, ensuring structural stability across all five functional decks. Visually, the exterior is defined by a sculpted, aerodynamic superstructure featuring sharply angled grilles and a distinct hull coated in a striking “Tour de France” blue finish. Following rigorous sea trials conducted in the Sea of Marmara during April, the vessel is currently cruising en route to Italy.

The H2 Yacht Design Aesthetic

The visual execution of Angelique represents the latest developmental chapter in a 20-year relationship between Turquoise Yachts and London-based H2 Yacht Design, a prolific partnership that has successfully produced 12 yachts over a span of 17 years. Founder Jonny Horsfield explicitly tailored the interior spaces to reflect a refined Art Deco approach, building heavily upon the design language previously established on the 77-metre Go. The expansive layout features polished stainless steel accents and world-class lacquer work produced entirely by local craftsmen through a longstanding partnership with Ulutas. This bespoke aesthetic peaks within the central open staircase atrium, which dramatically houses a suspended glass sculpture designed by Dale Chihuly.

Waterfront Engineering and Wellness

Modern charter assets demand extensive waterside infrastructure to maximize the guest experience. The main deck aft serves as a primary social zone, seamlessly incorporating a 6.5-metre glass-sided counterflow swimming pool. The aft platform features one of the most expansive beach clubs in its specific class, complete with a drive-in tender docking system, fold-down lateral terraces, and ambient illumination sourced directly from the pool skylights located above. The bridge deck is entirely dedicated to physical wellness, offering a panoramic gymnasium alongside a full spa equipped with a hammam, sauna, and a private treatment room.

The Charter Layout and Entertaining Spaces

The interior geometry is expertly optimized for 12 guests distributed across seven flexible cabins, robustly supported by a crew accommodation block that sleeps 27 maritime personnel. The forward private deck functions as a dedicated owner’s suite, integrating a television lounge, dual his-and-hers dressing rooms, an office, and an elevated breakfast table positioned for clear views over the bow. The sundeck maximizes outdoor entertainment with teppanyaki and barbecue grills, an outdoor cinema, and fixed sunpads wrapping around one of the two onboard Jacuzzis. Additional amenities include DJ facilities, a golf simulator, and a touch-and-go helipad that quickly converts into a basketball court. Angelique enters the market as a highly capable asset, exclusively available for charter operations through Edmiston starting at €1,200,000 per week.
