The Dusseldorf Boat Show is currently serving as the launchpad for one of the most significant arrivals in the rigid inflatable sector: the all-new Grand G980. The hull utilizes an exceptionally seaworthy twin-step design—a geometry already proven on the brand’s previous large-scale vessels. With a 30-degree midsection deadrise and 22 degrees at the aft, the boat is engineered to maintain stability while slicing through chop. This isn’t a passive hull; it’s an active system designed to handle a maximum of 700HP, whether through a single 30” ultra-long shaft or a twin 25” extra-long setup.
A Cabin Built for Autonomy
The G980 breaks the mold of traditional RIBs by offering genuine overnight capability. Tucked within the 1000 cm frame is a dedicated cabin featuring a twin-bed arrangement. This interior volume is supported by a suite of amenities that suggest a much larger yacht, including a kitchenette, dual fridges, and a freshwater set with a full-size sink. The inclusion of a private head ensures that this 33-footer can function as a “home away” for up to 12 passengers in Category B conditions.
Hypalon Grit and Heavy-Duty Craft
Construction on the Golden Line G980 is built for longevity and environmental resistance. The 60 cm tubes are crafted from Hypalon, featuring seven chambers for maximum safety and buoyancy. With a bare boat weight of 2350 kg and a loading capacity of 2000 kg, the G980 is a heavy-duty platform that balances sophisticated styling with the ruggedness required for open-sea adventure.
