Precision Acoustic Integration
Delivering high-fidelity sound within a marine environment requires strict coordination between AV/IT specialists and shipyard designers. Videoworks formalized a partnership to integrate Bang & Olufsen audio systems throughout Ferretti Group’s Custom Line yachts. Acting as a certified partner rather than just an equipment supplier, Videoworks executed the full integration of these systems, ensuring the hardware functioned flawlessly within the yacht’s existing technical ecosystems without disrupting the established interior design language.
Custom Line 50: The Upper Deck Configuration
The integration strategy varies significantly based on the specific architectural layout of the vessel. For the Custom Line 50, which measures 49.90 metres and operates just under the 500 GT threshold, the owner requested a highly specific audio customization for the upper deck lounge. Finalized in September 2024, this setup utilized Beolab 28 loudspeakers paired with a 77-inch Beovision Harmony television. The objective was to elevate the acoustic performance of a primary convivial space while ensuring the hardware matched the exclusive nature of the owner’s deck.
Custom Line Navetta 38: Displacement Acoustics
The approach was adjusted for the smaller, displacement-hull Navetta 38 series. Multiple units of this 38.76-metre platform, including M/Y Telli, were delivered earlier in 2024. For these specific made-to-measure layouts, Videoworks installed the Beosound Theatre soundbar alongside the Beolab 19 subwoofer. This configuration was selected to provide depth and clarity for streaming and film content within the refined spatial dimensions of a 299 GT vessel.
Color Configurations and Material Finishes
Acoustic hardware on a luxury yacht cannot look like an afterthought. The Bang & Olufsen products were customized in direct collaboration with the architects at Ferretti Group. Utilizing an advanced configurator, the integration team adjusted the specific finishes and color palettes of the speakers to match the yacht’s internal materials. This process ensured that the hardware functioned as a cohesive design statement rather than a purely technological intrusion into the living spaces.
Multi-Room Audio Engineering
The overall success of these installations relies on seamless multi-room engineering. Videoworks utilized the inherent flexibility of the Bang & Olufsen systems to deliver an immersive sound experience that spans across multiple zones of the vessel. By maintaining a discreet operational profile, the technology enhances onboard entertainment, music, and streaming without visually dominating the elegant proportions and architectural harmony crafted by the Italian shipyard.
