The core of the OpenTug framework relies on its proprietary software. The BargeOS platform consolidates commercial planning, voyage management, and invoice reconciliation into a single unified digital environment. By centralizing this operational data, the technology allows shippers and carriers to actively reduce idle barge days while minimizing costly demurrage charges. The system generates powerful reporting metrics to increase overall ETA prediction accuracy during extended river transits.
Automating Voyage Data
Manual tracking severely limits the speed of modern freight networks. To counter this, OpenTug pairs integrated barge GPS monitoring directly with the BargeOS Autopilot feature. This specific integration automates the ingestion of traffic reports and operational emails, granting users a comprehensive, real-time view of all voyage activity.
