Turkish Steel Meets the Open Sea
The Antalya Free Zone continues to solidify its reputation for heavy-duty luxury infrastructure. AvA Yachts has officially launched M/Y V, marking the first time the public will see the long-range Kando 85 profile in its natural element. Built with a traditional steel hull and an aluminum superstructure, the vessel addresses a specific demand in the market for platforms that emphasize structural endurance over pure speed.
Volumetric Engineering for Extended Travel
Displacement hulls often struggle to balance aesthetic proportions with internal capacity, but the Kando 85 utilizes a wide-beam architecture to maximize real estate below deck. This structural choice accommodates extended provisioning, substantial equipment storage, and generous crew accommodations necessary for remote itineraries. The focus remains entirely on autonomy, allowing owners to sustain self-sufficient operations far from traditional marine networks.
Collaborative Development and Commissioning
The project reached the water through a direct partnership between the Turkish builder and Smart Yachts, with broker Maria Razumi coordinating client expectations throughout the construction cycle. Founder and Chairman Atilla Küçükdiker confirmed that the vessel is shifting immediately into the next operational phase. A rigorous schedule of dockside commissioning and open-water sea trials will verify performance data before final delivery to the owners.
The Upcoming European Autumn Tour
Rather than slipping quietly into private service, the explorer is scheduled for an immediate high-profile debut this autumn. It will transition from testing directly to the major Mediterranean events, securing berths at both the Cannes Yachting Festival and the Monaco Yacht Show. These appearances will provide the first opportunity for industry professionals and prospective buyers to examine the interior execution and custom metalwork firsthand.
