The Migration of a Masterpiece

On December 12, 2025, the Dutch skyline witnessed the relocation of a titan. Oceanco’s Project Y729 was successfully transported from construction facilities in Zwijndrecht to the specialized outfitting docks in Alblasserdam. This move signals the transition into the final fabrication phase for the 80-meter (262ft) vessel. With the steel hull and aluminum superstructure now fully pre-outfitted and joined, the project is officially on track for sea trials and a highly anticipated delivery in 2027.

Simply Custom: The Strategic Foundation

Y729 holds a significant place in the Oceanco lineage as the inaugural project for the Simply Custom offering. The concept is a gritty, clever response to the traditionally long wait times of full custom builds. By utilizing an established 2,500–2,700GT technical backbone, Oceanco allows owners to kickstart their ambitions without starting from zero. As Project Director Erwin de Looff noted, this “technical backbone” allowed the team to bypass the usual preliminary hurdles and maintain a surprisingly fast pace for a vessel of such complexity.

An Elite Design Collaboration

The aesthetic profile of Y729 is the work of Espen Øino International, a name synonymous with some of the most recognizable silhouettes on the water. Inside, the narrative is shaped by Zuretti Design, who are crafting an environment to host 14 guests in absolute refinement. Technical oversight is managed by the sharp eyes at Arrow Monaco, ensuring that every inch of the 2,600GT volume meets the rigorous standards of both the shipyard and the sophisticated owners.

The First-Time Owner’s Vision

Interestingly, Y729 is the first yacht for these specific owners. After years in the charter circuit, they decided to create a sanctuary tailored specifically for their family. Their approach has been one of celebration rather than stress, treating the shipyard team as an extended part of their own family. This “chemistry” between the owners, Arrow Monaco, and Oceanco has been cited as a primary driver for the project’s success, proving that a joyful atmosphere produces a superior final product.

Technical Specs and Future Impact

Beneath the Zuretti interiors and Espen Øino lines lies a future-forward diesel-electric propulsion system. With a beam of 13.8 meters (45ft) and a top speed of 16 knots, Y729 is engineered for efficient, comfortable world cruising. The naval architecture—a collaboration between Oceanco and Lateral Naval Architects—ensures that despite its 80-meter length, the yacht remains agile and sustainable. As it enters the outfitting halls, the world waits to see how this “Simply Custom” pioneer will redefine the 80m market upon launch.
