Scaling the Bilgin Flagship Lineup
Turkish shipyard Bilgin Yachts is aggressively expanding its production footprint with the introduction of Project Bond. Measuring 269 feet, the vessel officially claims the title of the builder’s largest superyacht to date, eclipsing the highly publicized 263-foot Tatiana. This massive platform merges severe transoceanic capability with highly stylized interior volumes, proving the shipyard’s capacity to execute heavy-duty custom builds for demanding repeat clients.
The 007-Themed Fleet Pedigree
The identity of this specific hull is tied directly to its owner, American businessman John Staluppi. Staluppi maintains a rigid tradition of naming his massive custom builds after Ian Fleming’s iconic spy films. Project Bond joins an established lineage of high-profile vessels, including the 238-foot Quantum of Solace, the 61-mph Octopussy, and the Paris-inspired 226-foot Spectre. The new Bilgin hull continues this cinematic obsession while drastically increasing the overall gross tonnage of his personal fleet.
Art Deco Architecture on the Water
Developing the internal layout required a sharp departure from minimalist contemporary trends. Bilgin contracted H2 Design to execute the living spaces, tasking founder Jonny Horsfield with creating a timeless, Art Deco-inspired environment. The main saloon features curved seating arrangements situated beneath an airy chandelier, paired with a massive bar offering unobstructed ocean sightlines. A heavy, open staircase serves as the architectural focal point, connecting the primary lounging zones directly to the lower beach club.
The Gilded Owner’s Suite
The design team pushed the Art Deco aesthetic to its extreme within the primary accommodations. The sprawling owner’s suite incorporates a twinkling mirror installation across the ceiling, anchoring the room above a highly textured wavy carpet. The adjoining bathroom relies heavily on deep blue sunburst accents and a fully gilded vanity. This specific use of rich fabrics, mirrored surfaces, and vibrant color blocking runs consistently through the two VIP cabins and the sophisticated twin guest quarter.
Lower Deck Cinema and Guest Quarters
Long-range cruising demands dedicated entertainment infrastructure to occupy guests during extended transits. The lower deck houses a private cinema strictly outfitted for heavy viewing schedules. Ribbon lighting stretches across the ceiling, contrasting against the dark blue acoustic paneling and carpets. Six oversized reclining sofas provide the seating arrangement, giving the owner a highly controlled environment to screen his namesake film collection while underway.
MTU Propulsion and Exterior Geometry
Pushing a 269-foot hull through heavy swells requires serious mechanical output. Project Bond relies on twin MTU 16V 4000M73 propulsion units to hit a top speed of 17.5. Paired with its massive fuel capacity, the vessel delivers a confirmed transoceanic range exceeding 5,000 nautical miles. While Unique Yacht Design executed the sharp exterior geometry, the shipyard is withholding the final exterior renderings, though early intelligence confirms the layout includes two dedicated pools and vast exterior lounge zones.
