The upcoming hardware reflects the manufacturer’s operational focus on improving reliability, compliance, and baseline safety for the commercial and recreational maritime industry.
Infrared Lifejacket Illumination
Locating personnel in the water during nighttime operations presents a severe logistical hurdle. To improve recovery rates, the new W4-VIR lifejacket light merges a visible flashing LED with a dedicated infrared LED. This dual-output configuration enables search and rescue units equipped with night-vision goggles to detect the strobe from a distance of two to five kilometers. The unit features automatic water activation alongside a manual switch, utilizing lithium battery technology to secure MED/MER/SOLAS, USCG, and EASA ETSO-C85b approvals.
Hazardous Environment Preparedness
Operating within potentially explosive atmospheres restricts the type of electrical equipment crews can utilize. Daniamant addresses this friction with the W4-EX, an intrinsically safe lifejacket light that builds upon the foundational performance of their previous L6A-EX model. Utilizing the highly compact W4 physical footprint, this corrosion-resistant unit features automatic water activation and sustains a high-intensity flashing output for more than eight hours.
Diagnostic Engineering
Protecting internal mechanical systems requires constant, accurate telemetry. For operators managing freshwater generators and marine boilers, the firm is introducing the SL9005 Salinometer. This high-precision instrument utilizes conductivity measurements for real-time salinity surveillance, featuring a 0–199 ppm alarm setpoint and automatic electronic self-testing. Simultaneously, the manufacturer will present the DanEI-300. This hardware secured IMO Wheelmark approval, making it the first electronic inclinometer certified to meet the specific IMO carriage requirements mandated for bulk carriers and container ships.
Pyrotechnic Alternatives
The reliance on traditional flares is steadily shifting toward sustainable, electronic signaling. Daniamant completes its SMM lineup with the ODEO Lux Electronic Visual Distress Signal Device. Built on the existing ODEO SoS platform, this RTCM-compliant eVDSD functions as a pyrotechnic-free alternative. It delivers 360-degree hemispherical light distribution, utilizing red-orange and cyan outputs with an optional IR integration to ensure exceptional visibility and extended operational life in harsh marine environments.
