By tracking these specific elements, users can evaluate how rising temperatures and absorbed human-generated carbon dioxide emissions are physically reshaping coastlines and marine ecosystems worldwide.

Forecasting Environmental Shifts

Evaluating current conditions is only one component of effective marine management. The MyOcean Health platform expands its utility by providing access to ten-day forecasts for selected indicators. This short-term outlook utilizes Copernicus Marine Service data to project upcoming shifts in sea surface temperatures and marine heatwave activity. Such forecasting capabilities are essential for tracking the development of phenomena like El Niño in the tropical Pacific, allowing coastal communities and commercial operations to identify emerging hotspots before they peak.

Visualizing the Data

Raw data holds limited value without effective presentation. To ensure the information is easily digestible, the platform integrates interactive maps, graphs, animations, and time-series visualisations. Users can seamlessly explore the state of the ocean on both global and regional scales. The dashboard features an intuitive timeline that enables individuals to directly compare real-time conditions against long-term historical averages.
