Evolving Beyond the VR6 Platform

Bayliner has introduced its next-generation bowrider flagship line, launching the V22 outboard and V22i sterndrive across European markets. Building directly upon the foundation of the popular VR6 platform, these 6.99-metre vessels introduce sculpted hull sides, an expanded cockpit footprint, and refined ergonomics tailored specifically for European coastal and inland cruising. Venture Boat Group President Vittorio Bichucher noted that the series builds on over a decade of family boating heritage while adapting to modern passenger expectations for comfort and flexibility.

Autumn European Boat Show Tour

To showcase the new lineup, Bayliner has scheduled an extensive autumn exhibition tour across major European maritime events. The V22 and V22i will debut at HISWA in the Netherlands, the Southampton International Boat Show in the UK, Grand Pavois La Rochelle in France, and Interboot Friedrichshafen in Germany. Subsequent presentations will take place at the Genoa International Boat Show in Italy, Boatshow Poland in Warsaw, and the Barcelona International Boat Show, allowing regional boaters to evaluate the physical builds in person.

Euro-Specific Amenities and Galley Systems

Navigating extended days at anchor requires functional onboard conveniences. The European-specification V22 and V22i incorporate an integrated galley complete with a sink, portable stove, and drawer refrigerator. Passengers benefit from a Bimini top with a full enclosure, an electric bow windlass, and an adjustable sun pad featuring an inclining headrest. The cockpit can be configured in spacious U-shaped or L-shaped layouts, anchored by a premium real teak table and optional Gatorstep flooring for enhanced traction.

Hull Geometry and Passenger Capacity

Physical dimensions heavily dictate hull stability and passenger comfort in variable seas. Carrying a 2.54-metre beam and a 20-degree deadrise hull, both models deliver predictable handling across coastal chop and open lake waters. The outboard V22 accommodates up to 12 passengers, whereas the sterndrive V22i provides seating for up to 11 people. Venture Boat Group Director of Design and Strategy John Barbier emphasized that the twin captain’s seats with 180-degree swivel functionality, integrated courtesy lighting, and abundant storage facilitate effortless hosting during day trips.

Dual Propulsion and Customization Packages

Propulsion choices allow owners to align the vessel with their specific regional cruising habits. The V22 supports Mercury outboard power rated up to 250hp, providing direct access for routine servicing and shallow-water operation. Conversely, the V22i utilizes MerCruiser sterndrive installations up to 250hp, offering a clean swim platform area for watersports enthusiasts. Multiple equipment packages, engine configurations, and color combinations ensure buyers can tailor each build to their exact operational requirements.
