ExploMar and Lamdo Yachts Launch the Wave 70+ Outboard Configuration
Merging European Manufacturing with Electric Propulsion
The transition toward emission-free maritime transport requires active collaboration between specialized manufacturers. China-based ExploMar, a producer of marine electric propulsion systems, recently established a formal partnership with Polish motor yacht builder Lamdo Yachts. This joint venture directly combines Lamdo’s regional yacht-building capabilities with the naval architecture and design expertise of Tony Castro Yacht Design. The resulting platform serves as a functional testbed for ExploMar’s electric propulsion technology within the European leisure boating sector.
The eLY30+ Hardware Configuration
The first tangible product of this collaboration is the Lamdo Yachts eLY30+. This fully electric vessel is heavily configurable, designed to accommodate ExploMar systems ranging from the Wave 70+ up to the robust Wave 300 electric outboard. To prove the commercial viability of this setup, the development team opted to thoroughly test the hull equipped specifically with the Wave 70+ configuration in an active inland waterway environment.
Real-World Testing in the Mazury Lake District
Establishing accurate range metrics demands real-world data collection. The eLY30+ recently completed rigorous sea trials across Poland’s Mazury Lake District, focusing strictly on energy consumption and continuous operating range. During these evaluations, calculations demonstrated that the vessel could maintain nearly 17 hours of continuous operation when running at approximately 5 km/h. When the speed increased to approximately 8 km/h, the platform sustained around 10 hours of navigation. On a specific 36 km inland route between Giżycko and Mikołajki, the yacht consumed approximately 24 kWh of energy.
Acoustic Output During Operation
Acoustic intrusion heavily dictates passenger comfort on electric platforms. During the Mazury Lake District trials, the Wave 70+ system registered cabin noise levels below 60 dB at maximum RPM. Under normal cruising conditions, the acoustic output dropped below 50 dB. This data confirms the system operates quietly enough to meet the strict environmental demands of protected European inland waterways.
Industry Recognition at Polboat 2026
Marine professionals are actively tracking these verified operational metrics. The eLY30+ officially debuted at the 2026 Polboat Yachting Festival, where it secured the Gdynia Polboat Awards 2026 in the Special Boats category. ExploMar CEO Alex Dong noted that the project validates the reliability of electric propulsion for inland applications. Lamdo Yachts founder Błażej Predko reinforced this perspective, stating that their combined craftsmanship and advanced propulsion technology provide a functional path forward for environmentally responsible luxury boating.
