Expanding the Industrial Footprint
Corporate acquisitions within the marine sector frequently target highly specific operational capabilities. Gommoni Callegari recently finalized the acquisition of Geniuss, signaling a deliberate expansion into the specialized tender market. This transaction provides the Anagni-based shipyard with established manufacturing assets and an internationally recognized product line. Rather than completely absorbing the acquired company, the Geniuss brand will maintain its distinct identity within the broader Callegari Group.
The Patented Translation Mechanism
The core value of this acquisition centers on proprietary hardware. Geniuss built its reputation upon a patented outboard engine translation system that relies on a specific mechanical separation process. This mechanism utilizes a sliding support integrated with a folding transom, allowing the outboard engine to retract directly into the hull of the tender. Operators can engage this translation system manually or utilize an electro-hydraulic mechanism controlled by a wireless remote.
Optimizing Platform Storage
Storing auxiliary vessels on a primary hull presents strict spatial constraints. The Geniuss sliding transom actively eliminates the protrusion of the outboard’s lower unit, enabling superyachts to accommodate larger tenders on restricted swim platforms. Beyond spatial economy, retracting the engine improves overall weight distribution during launch and recovery sequences. When towed, the recessed lower unit significantly reduces hydrodynamic drag and minimizes the physical risks associated with an exposed propeller.
Manufacturing Consolidation in Anagni
Scaling production requires centralized logistics. Callegari intends to consolidate all manufacturing and future product development at its primary facilities in Anagni, transferring its established industrial methods directly to the Geniuss production line. To ensure operational continuity, Claudia De Sanctis will remain in her position as Managing Director of Geniuss. She will collaborate directly with the Callegari management team to drive international commercial growth and oversee upcoming technological implementations.
Developing the Carbon-Fibre Fleet
The newly formed corporate structure is already outlining its future manufacturing parameters. The upcoming industrial plan involves designing a completely new family of tenders constructed from carbon-fibre. By utilizing advanced resin infusion processes, the shipyard aims to drastically reduce the overall weight of the vessels. Furthermore, the management team is evaluating the introduction of electric propulsion systems to align the upcoming Geniuss fleet with the shifting demands of the contemporary marine market.
