Anytec Upgrades the 860-T Platform with a 425-Horsepower Successor
Advancing the Swedish Hull
Building a high-performance vessel for harsh marine conditions demands strict structural discipline. Swedish aluminum specialist Anytec has introduced the A28-T, functioning as the direct successor to the 860-T, which secured the Best of Boats award in the Performance category in 2024. The manufacturer based this new iteration on the proven A27 hull, incorporating a raised freeboard and a heavily revised sheerline. This creates an aggressive exterior profile while increasing overall refinement for the operator.
Aluminum Fabrication and Deadrise
The foundation of the A28-T relies entirely on fully welded marine-grade aluminum, a material specifically chosen for its structural strength and longevity in harsh Nordic environments. To ensure the vessel handles heavy chop without becoming skittish, the architects applied a 20.7-degree deadrise angle. This specific geometry allows the 8.83-metre hull to glide smoothly and maintain predictable stability during aggressive maneuvers, giving the operator complete control as the pace increases.
Single-Outboard Propulsion
Raw speed dictates the mechanical outfitting of the craft. The factory engineered a new engine bracket to support a single outboard motor producing up to 425 horsepower. When rigged with a Mercury Verado V10 425, the 2.55-metre wide vessel achieves a top speed of 54 to 55 knots. Opting for a single-engine configuration rather than a dual setup drastically reduces maintenance costs and fuel consumption while providing the immediate throttle response and direct driving feel of a sports car.
The T-Top Configuration
Protection from the elements cannot come at the expense of visibility. The A28-T introduces a sleek T-top format that shields the helm without creating an enclosed, restricted feeling. This overhead structure provides necessary coverage when weather patterns suddenly shift, yet preserves the open-boat experience and unobstructed sightlines critical for high-speed navigation along rocky coastlines.
Operator Ergonomics and Seating
Sustaining 55 knots over open water places severe physical stress on the human body. To mitigate this impact, Anytec equips the A28-T with four Öhlins-damped suspension seats as standard hardware. These advanced shock absorbers take the punishment out of rough seas, allowing the crew to travel faster for longer periods. The helm itself features intuitive controls and large Simrad displays, ensuring that every vital piece of data sits within easy reach of the driver.
Configuring the Aft Deck
A performance boat must still offer practical utility at anchor. The cockpit arrangement remains highly configurable to suit individual owner requirements. The layout includes a rear bench seat and a folding table, which can be supplemented with an optional built-in refrigerator. Smart storage solutions, dedicated fender baskets, and a stern door complete the package. Pricing for the A28-T begins at €158,900 excluding VAT, establishing a serious option for those prioritizing raw capability over unnecessary complexity.
